Login Management (EN)

How can I define NetConfig user permissions?

Our login management feature allows you to define NetConfig user permissions. This means that you can for example create a user for your web designer or IT specialist and assign them the appropriate rights.

Instructions:
1. First of all you need to create a subuser. To set up a subuser, you must log into NetConfig with your Admin Login.
2. Go to Login Management

3. Click on Create new user.

4. Fill in the username and password (initial password) fields and set the user’s role (user or administrator).

4. The subuser was created successfully. You now have the possibility to manage the user and assign them specific rights.

5. Click on Set rights to set the desired user rights. For example, if you want to give your web designer access to NetConfig, it may make sense to restrict access individually. Below is an example of how to set service access for a domain and a hosting package.

6. Click on the + symbol under domain management to view all domain names. For example, you can now grant access to DNS editor for a domain. In this case, we are granting access to the domain beispieldomain.ch

7. Click on the + icon under Package Management to view all your hosting packages. Now you can set access to the desired web and mail services accordingly.

8. Once you have added the desired rights, you can click on Save. These rights take effect immediately.

9. The new user can now log in with the defined access data.

10. When you log in for the first time, you must reset the password defined by the administrator and provide an email address and a telephone number. To do this, simply enter the initial password under the previous password, choose a new password and confirm it. Then click on “Change password“.

11. After the password is changed successfully, the password warning will no longer be displayed.

12. The logged in user only has access to the services you have granted access to. In this case, under Domains the user only has access to the DNS editor of the domain beispieldomain.ch.

13. Access to other domain names remains denied. In this case, access to the DNS editor of the demodemo.ch domain is not allowed and the user gets an access denied warning.
