How to manage the Application Firewall?
The Application Firewall automatically protects your website from numerous malicious attacks. Hundreds of firewall rules are responsible for this. However, it can happen that individual rules also block legitimate access, which is why such rules can be deactivated for the affected directory and its sub-directories.
Instructions:
Temporarily disable Application Firewall
Notice
If you are constantly working on a new website and the Application Firewall often blocks some requests, you can temporarily disable the firewall for a certain period of time (maximum 2 weeks).
1. Log into NetConfig.
4. The firewall will now be deactivated within 15 minutes until the selected date.
5. To manually re-enable the firewall if you finish earlier than expected, uncheck the box and click Save. The application firewall will then run normally again.
Disable Application Firewall rule
If you encounter the following error message while trying to make changes to your website, it means that the Application Firewall has blocked the request sent to the server.
Now let’s see how to disable this firewall rule.
1. Log into NetConfig.
4. Find the blocked request by looking at your public IP address, date and time, and the requested URL.
5. Once you find the correct request, you can click on its ID shown in blue.
6. The rule ID is automatically inserted into the “Data/Id” field under “Deactivate rule”. Please check carefully whether all information is correct and then click on “Deactivate rule“.
7. You can now see that the rule has been successfully deactivated. The changes will take effect within 15 minutes.
