Please make sure there is enough disk space available on your hosting package before starting the backup restore. Otherwise, the backup process will not be performed. You can check the current space available under Package Management / Overview.

How to restore website data?

1. Log into NetConfig.

2. Click on Package Management / Overview.

3. Click on Backup in the top menu.

4. In the drop-down list, click the backup date you would like to restore. In this example, we select the backup from September 30th, 2022.

5. In the next step, select the source directory or file you wish to restore. The name of the target directory or file is assigned automatically and can be customized. Please note that directories must end with a / (slash)!  Accept the terms and conditions and click on Restore Backup.

Notice

Not recommended:

If the source and target file/directory are identical, the target data will not be emptied and existing data will be overwritten. For example, if you use /htdocs/ as the source directory and /htdocs/ as the target directory, identical file names will be overwritten by the backup but newer files will not be removed.

6. The backup job has now been successfully submitted and will start in a few seconds.

7. Once the backup has been restored successfully, it will be shown as successful under the status. You may need to refresh the page to see the current status.

8. After the backup is successfully restored, you must/can replace the current directory with the one you just restored. In this example we use the file manager in NetConfig to do this. Therefore, click on File Manager.

9. Since we restored the htdocs directory in this example, we can now rename the current htdocs directory to old.htdocs. Please note that you need to rename it according to the restored directory or file. Right-click the current htdocs directory and select Rename.

10. For example, rename the htdocs directory to old.htdocs and click OK.

11. Then you can right-click on the restored directory and choose Rename.

12. Rename the directory to htdocs and click OK.

13. That’s it! Your restored directory is now live.

How to restore a database data?

1. Log into NetConfig.
2. Click on MySQL Databases.

3. Click on Backup in the top menu.

4. Select the source database. In this example we use the “demodemo” database. Then click on Continue.

5. Now select the desired backup time of your source database from which you would like to restore the backup.

6. Select the desired target database into which the backup should be imported.

7. Review your selection, accept the terms and conditions and click on Send order now.

8. The backup job has now been successfully submitted and will start in a few seconds.

9. Once the backup has been restored successfully, it will be shown as successful under the status. You may need to refresh the page to see the current status.
